Happy Day!

Hope your Friday is extra special!

I have a card for you today using a StampTangle from Just For Fun Rubber Stamps. I hope this card brings a smile to your face and an inspiration to your muse.

I used the same sun from my past inspiration card as it works so nicely with the StampTangle Flower Block stamp. The stamp is approx. 4 x 4 so my finished card is 5 x 7 after all the mating is done. I stamped the flower block using Archival black ink onto white card. It stamps beautifully! I created a 1/4" border of yellow and mounted on black card with a torn bottom. Happy DAY was stamped using Archival black ink onto white card and then punched with a tag punch. A small portion of the sun was stamped onto the tag and colored with colored pencils. I couldn't find any yellow ribbon but did find some yellow fiber-wrapped wire in my stash. I wrapped this around a small dowel to "squiggle" it. I thought it went well with the flower block. Well, that's it for today.

Enjoy Life

Happy Friday Everyone,

Today's card is a little reminder to "enjoy LIFE" as you roll through your days, weeks and years.

The background was created with dye inks and stamped with Archival black ink using the wonderful Thoughts & Feelings stamp. I love the way all the words flow through the rolling hills of lines.  The Bicycle was stamped onto white card, cut out and ran through the Xyron before attaching to the background. I hand cut a "pole" from black card to attach the flying words. Enjoy LIFE was stamped on white card and hand cut into flags. Tiny gold gems were added where the flags meet the pole.

Dream Girl

Hi everyone,

Wooo Hoooo.  It's FRIDAY. The weekend is just around the corner.

Just For Fun Rubber Stamps has really outdone themselves on their Summer 2013 new stamps. I'm having lots of fun using them and hope you enjoy them as much as I do. You just have to check out their new Stamptangle stamps. I'll be using lots of these in the upcoming posts and be sure to check back often.

OK, here is today's card........................

I want to introduce you to "Dream Girl". She's outside on a nice summer day, has picked a few flowers and she is restocking her mind's pantry with summer dreams to keep her soul healthy. There is nothing like being outside on a beautiful summer day to freshen one's outlook on life.

She is stamped with Archival black ink on watercolor card. The coloring was done using watercolor pencils and a water brush. She is popped up onto the background and the sentiment "dream BIG" was stamped with Archival black ink also.  I hope you like her and she brings a little smile to your face today!

"Inspiration" Card

Hi ..........It's Monday and I have an "inspiration" card to share with you. The story behind this card is this: I belong to a stamp club which meets once/month. Each member is responsible for the month's project and the "inspiration" for that month. Well, my friend Janice is behind the inspiration for August and she said, "think elephants....India....bindi". Then she sent this postcard to each member...........

It sure brought a smile to my face. What a happy, fanciful elephant; and colorful. As I lay in bed that night, my mind  wandered to my stamps and what I have in the line of elephants?  Eureka!!! Since I am in the middle of reorganizing my unmounted stamps, I just happened to come across a really cool elephant stamp that would work and an idea even popped into my head. I was really, really thrilled when I remembered it the next day (LOL)  Well, this is what I came up with....

Sadly, I don't know who made the elephant stamp. I labeled it with an "LV" on the back but just don't recall the company name. If anyone recognizes it, please leave me a comment.  The sun is from Just For Fun but it's an older wood-mounted stamp.

I had so much fun making this "inspiration" card.  Hope you like it and maybe get some inspiration from it OR at least I hope it brings a smile to your face.

Thanks for stopping by..........Happy Monday!    Linda

Don't pay the ransom.....I'm back!

Well, I won't go into all the details as to why I haven't been posting to this blog, just tell you that "life got in the way for a time".  All that is important is that I am now back and ready to get into the swing of blogging and posting again.

Today I have a card I made using Just For Fun stamps. I have a stash of "go to" backgrounds, and I've used one of these on this card. I do love putting ink on my craft mat and swirling so this is how this particular background was made. I actually used glossy card stock and dye inks on this one.  All the stamps used are from Just For Fun and makes me think about the time my husband and I first went to Florida after we both retired. Such fun we had and such good memories.  I hope you enjoy the card.

As always, you can purchase these stamps in three different ways; wood mounted, cling mounted and good 'ol red rubba.
